A  LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Health Information Management Student,

I’m pleased to welcome you to the IFHIMA web site and in particular, to the student web page.

One of the goals of the International Federation of Health Information Management Associations is to support national associations and health information management professionals as they work to implement and improve health record systems in their own countries.  We have been an organization since 1968 that brings together various national associations and individual members committed to improving health information management systems worldwide.

One of our most effective ways of improving HIM systems is through the education of our HIM professionals.  HIM students are the future of the profession and we want you to be well-equipped for future leadership roles.  The need for well-educated HIM professionals is common to all countries in our world.  Students from different countries and cultures can always find common ground for discussion and professional debate.  I hope this web site encourages your interest in the field, and that is a positive resource for you to connect with fellow students and professionals around the world.
